A few months ago I proposed running a short tournament.

All scenario's would be 10 moves except for the final round which would be 12 moves.

12 contestants, a limit of 40 days per mirror round and any round exceeding the time limit to be adjudicated by a panel of judges.

Two divisions of 6 contestants playing only those people in their division.

The last round to be a mirror game between divisions based upon your standing. 1st versus 1st, 2nd vs 2nd etc.

I have a list of persons that posted an interest in such a tournament and will post them here.

Scud
Skryabin
Tankbuster21
Boisforas
Montana Mud
Sturmvogel
Ernst
Majog
Zorro
Rupert
Zeiss
Montana Grizz (yes, I want to play in this tournament)

I am planning on starting this tournament in the next few weeks. I need the individuals listed above to contact me personally: [email protected] so I can determine if you
are still interested in participating.

You have a week in which to contact me and become an official member of the tournament.

After that time period, I will open the tournament on a first come, first serve basis.

More about the tournament:

All of the small scenario's are balanced, in terms of what has been reported on the Blitz game site.

Don't join this tournament unless you feel you can make moves on an almost daily basis.

This will mean about 2 moves per week for two scenario's on a continual basis for the 40 day period.

I will extend the last round to 60 days.

It is suggested that you maintain a record of your emails regarding these rounds. If you are consistantly making moves every two or three days and your opponent is taking a week, then any adjudication will provide you with extra consideration.

If you plan a vacation or other absence during the tournament, then it is suggested that you provide yourself with time by making moves on a rapid basis.

Once a contestant has completed a round, they will be provided with their opponent for the next round and if the previous round has not been completed, you will gain extra days in which to finish a subsequent round.

This will allow for accumulating extra days in which to finish the tournament.

Any questions will be gladly addressed in a personal email.

My best,

Pat
I have at least one opening for a participant in this tournament at this time.

I believe it would be a great introduction and experience for some of the newer Blitz members.

Contact me if you are interested: [email protected]

There is no restriction in regard to the rating of a player to enter this tournament.

I will create two separate divisions and you will play a mirror game against everyone in your division (10 games).

I will attempt to balance each division based upon ELO ratings so that no division is stronger than the other.

Then the best ranking from one division will play against a similar player in the other division for the final rankings.

In the final interdivisional play; everyone starts from scratch with your divisional score meaning nothing except final placement.

!st place in one division will play first place in the other division, etc.

Sounds interesting. I'll give it a go.
if there is still an opening I would put my time in

Bumping this up.

New guys: Pat's tournaments are a lot of fun and well managed. Sign up if he still has room.
Thank you Dave,

I have two spots to fill at this time.
