Gentlemen,

PanzerLeo´s most recently updated H2H mod is now available for download from the Blitz. The version is SPH2H8.403 and includes several improved features. Please read installation instructions carefully. BE AWARE of the fact, the mod can cause problems with systems that are not fully windows updated. Vesku and me experienced an annoying bug, resulting in bad mouse performance.

Cheers, Klaus
Should there be a file attachement here? I cant seem to find it. Got the files from SPWAW depot where junk2drive had uploaded them.

Seems to work fine on my comp, no mouse issues. Could you be more specific about the "bad mouse performance" you are experiencing?

Anyway I made a modswap version of the H2H mod ver 8.403 which should make the installation much more convinient. It has all the files in one .spm mod file, so no need to manualy unzip the old mod and then the updated files in correct directories. With the modswap format you can install or uninstall the mod easily without the need to make manual backups.
Can I post a link for the DL here?
Hi Mikko.
Yes, you´ve misunderstood me. The H2H mod, you´ve meant, was actually created for the SPWAW 7.1 engine. The designer of this mod was PanzerLeo. Most recently he sent an addon for updating this mod for the newer 8.2 engine. The newer mod is called SPWAWH2H8.403. The download file, available from the link below is
"Steel Panthers H2H8.403". I´ve added an installation instruction to the mod files. Please read CAREFULLY ! The problems described can occur resulting from installation of this newer mod. But so far Vesku and Survor only experienced this annoying mouse performance bug.
I had the same problem, but it disappeared with the last windows update.

No I did not misunderstand you ;)

The file that junk2drive posted at SPWAW depot is the same Steel Panthers H2H8.403 that you gave in that ftp site.

Ive posted a new thread for the ModSwap version.

As to the possible mouse performance issues you have had I'm baffled. There should be nothing different in the way the game code functions in the H2H version of Mech.exe. So if youre saying standard SPWAW 8.403 worked fine but the H2H mod caused problems it is strange indeed. There is a program called D3DWindower that can run SPWAW and other old DirectX games in a windowed mode and this has helped people whit new computers and issues running SPWAW maybe that would help?
Hi Mikko.

The same files ?
I received these files exclusively from PanzerLeo and passed them on to 10 other H2H supporters. I´m really surprised.
Anyway, the mouse performance problem was related to a windows update of tools for removal of malignant software.

I hope, Matrix will publish a modern version of Steel Panthers in the foreseeable future, as I really prefer SPWAW instead of the Camo stuff. Keep cool guys, I know that´s an epic story Big GrinBig Grin

Cheers, Klaus
Hi, I'm the guilty party. I downloaded the files from the blitz and posted them at the SPWAW Depot for the people who are not members here.
Sorry if that was wrong. Looks like I got you a new member though.
Hi Paul.

No, that was perfect. Have not taken into consideration this mod would spread out so fast ! LOL !!

Anyway, please keep me informed in case you plan a tournament for the new mod. Assume some members of the Blitz would like to participate.

Cheers, Klaus

Did you guys try the mouse ctl patch that we use to have to use with SP? It is on the FTP server too.
