Well, it appears I am under warning of a temporary suspension for dragging up the past. :eek1:
We were asked what the Blitz meant to us and I answered, now I am under threat of banning for it.
I'm fed up of past issues not being addressed properly. I'm not interested in members being penalised for their actions, as I stated in a previous post, an apology would suffice.
I think the way the moderators work on here of late is to hammer a problem where a simple 'put up an apology' would suffice.
I've been accused on here as being thin-skinned, not being adult, not being a man and yet, I've never seen an apology for the statements.
Then you guys wonder why past issues crop up again and again, think about it?
Anyway, before I get stamped on, I state here and now that I will disappear from the forum, a self-banning and just play the odd game with contacts I have.
Good luck to you all, I've had enough of the rubbish long time ago.
To the moderators, thanks for your efforts, not being destructive to your efforts but, think you should look at issues from a different angle?
Please don't pm me anymore, said what I've said, no more discussion about it, I'm gone, don't take to being threatened for speaking as I see it.
regards
Peter
Peter is obviously very upset, and he may well have reason to be.

He is talking about the thread "What does the Blitz mean to you". He put up Post #10 , which quite bitterly spoke of his perceptions of injustice in a past issue. Given the title of the thread, I don't think his post was inappropriate. It could have been worded more carefully, perhaps. But it was not, I think, out of kilter with the thread title. My reading of his post was that, to Glint, the Blitz means unfair treatment and two sets of rules.
That said, the very next post, by the Club Commander (the thread originator), gently and tactfully rebukes him, for all to see. Surely that is penalty enough for merely speaking his mind on a past club matter that clearly pains him still.

Our legal tradition, as I recall, precludes double jeopardy.
Come on folks, this is just a freaking game and an online forum. This should not be a source of major angst in anyone's life. In the grand scheme of things, how incredibly trivial all this is. (I'm not saying it's not fun, and not important in it's own way, only that getting worked up, pro or con, over all this is not, in my opinion, very healthy or beneficial, for anyone.) Just my two cents, not directed at anyone in particular.

Rod,

You saw about 25% of what occurred.

He's upset is for an issue that happened in August/September. Man, let it go. This death grip on victimhood is unseemly.

Event occurred, offender was sanctioned and games were re-instated.

His original complaint has morphed into the moderators' judgement being questioned on multiple occasions.

Our legal tradition, as I recall, precludes double jeopardy.

Peter would have us re-open the case and impose additional sanctions because he doesn't think they were addressed properly. In legal parlance, he is the victim and now he wants to be the judge as well. I disagree with his contention that this was not dealt with fairly.

It was dealt with fairly, but he didn't get his pound of flesh his way and because he didn't he has started in on the Moderators and the injustice of it all.

He was given fair warning about this line of advance back-channel and then publicly, yet he insisted on continuing down the path. He's earned his trip to time out...

Regards,

Jim
...can I weigh in....??? Big Grin

I've been here since the place started (thanks for the invite Jim) and over the course of that time, if I've ever had the arse about anything, I just disappear for as long as it takes until it isn't bothering me any more, then come back to the GAME.

Leave the running of the place to those who run it, play the game and banter with those you get on with, ignore those who you don't.

No offense meant, just some friendly advice....

Merry Christmas

Rudolf.... aka Stryker... aka Paul :)
With all due respect, Jim, if you are gonna comment on me, get it right, if they're your thoughts, fair enough.
Yes, the past was dealt with. I'm not out for punishment for guys who attack me, just an apology would suffice. (Think I already posted that).
Upon the appearance of a certain person, I have had signatures aimed at me with some ridicule. I didn't stir up the past, someone else's behaviour did that, but apparently the moderators didn't agree.
You do me a mis-service Jim, - I have never asked for the case to be re-opened or new sanctions made, so your comment in public is totally mis-leading.
As said above, I am not out for a pound of flesh.
Yes, I was warned about taking the path of advance back channel and what perturbs me about that is, as I have stated here, my issue hasn't been understood at all and apparently, free speech that doesn't suit the ears of the powers that be will be stamped on?

I think Rod's comments highlight my points in this post perfectly.

I'll take the time out that I've earned so well Jim, as I said earlier, I'll just do the gaming and keep away from the forum.
Thanks a bundle.
I'd suggest you guys lock this thread, then I won't need to check for anymore mis-leading quotes about me.

Peter
This thread is now locked.

Thank you everyone for you comments.
Peter,

I hear what you are saying about an apology, but my experience at this has taught me to be wary of responses like that. There is another excuse/demand down the road.

This little drama has gone on long enough over an issue which was settled months ago, but was still going on in November when I returned. I reviewed everything on this from you, from those you had issues with, from those that supported you, from those that did not support you, and from the club leaders who dealt with this.

If you had just let it go like I asked, this could have been avoided.

Regards,

Jim
