The Battle of Singapore

In 1941, with Great Britain's attention fixed on the Axis Powers, Japan launched a surprise attack on Malaya and Singapore, the easternmost territories of the British Empire.

I'm fascinated by this... Senior Military officers discussing the history of the fight... If this is the standard, I like this new series (new to me anyways as it started in 2009 while I was in northern Iraq)...
Oh yeah take up all the threads from the newbee.Cant say ive seen that one on tv Jim but normal British arrogence in a lot of battles.Prog on Sat about great military blunders surprise surprise that was one of them.
John,

Based on what they were saying, it almost appeared that the Brits should have won. It did discuss a lot of the strategies and tactics employed by Yamashita in taking Malaya/Singapore and how it was his initiative and creativity at every turn which overcame the superior British defenses.

They had two retired British Generals discussing the strategies of each side. It was an actual discussion of events and why things unfolded the way they did. There was actual substance to the program.

I look forward to the other programs in the series.

Take care,

Jim
