Canada is thinking of buying these IFVs to give our boys more protection. The vehicle has a Bofors 40mm, and man does this thing kick ass! Check out the youtube video:

Don't think - just buy it - The Danish Army has done it - (and all the nordic counties I think - it is Swedish after all)
The danish version comes with the Bushmaster III 35/50 Chaingun though.
Se a long thread here:

And a descripton of the Danish version here:

Nothing stops the CV90!

Well.. except for the police.. Big Grin
So the thrown track at the road is from another tracked vehicle which just happened to pass by there?

Isn't it obvious that the police has confiscated the track to compare it with the marks on the car? :P
Be intresting to see what gun they go for, looked at a year or so back but from memory some not so happy with choosing Bushmaster over Boffors.
The main reason for the choice was rounds in the magazine 1/3rd or so more in Bushmasters case if remember correctly. In use though the programable round reduces shots needed for the same effect so balances, in other words more efficient. I believe a programable round is now in the works for the Bushmaster though so this could swing back in its favour. The Boffors has serious penetration mind you those Swedes can make guns look at your copy of MBT you can kill high end Russian tanks with flank shots, great fun.
Canada has a habit of buying crap. We bought 1 1/4 ton trucks to replace our aging GM fleet from FIAT (Fix It Again Tony) and we kept them for less then 15 years. The breaks squealed no matter what you did to them...real tactical.

In the first Gulf war we were offered M1A1s for FREE, all Canada had to do was agree to buy the parts from the US. Nope, can't have that, Bombardier only survives through government contracts (and of course it is in Quebec, got to keep those people happy). When we went to replace our hueys the US again offered us Blackhawks at basically free prices. Nope, got to buy parts from you, can't have that.

That bofors gun rocks. The 40mm round going through 140mm of armour is sweet, but the best part is the cannister rounds especially against helos. I would love to see this vehicle in MBT.

It is in MBT 3 or so versions in Swedish OOB with with 40mm. also other nations with Bushmaster.
I logged onto Bofors sight out of intrest as game shows pentration is rated at 200mm & was alarmed to see there ammo usage predictions for Bushmaster 3 vs this. Worst diffrence is vs helos as tricky blighters to hit I would think. At 1Km it takes the Bush3 about 65-70 rounds to bring one down, 3Km 460+ rounds. Divide by 17 near enough for what the 40 uses to bring it down. Forget the ammo expenditure even if the gun fired at half the ROF the diffrence in take down speed eliminating the threat is huge in combat terms. It probably does get through ammo quick because its engaging more targetsBig Grin
Bofors own Vickers I think & the Challeger 2 can reliably destroy 8 targets in 40 seconds (I am a Brit)

You guys as far as I know are the only people to use the ADATS system any ideas on as it looks pretty good to me on paper. Multi role missile system again its clever ammo so can take on both ground & air.
Quote from the link I provided above:
Question:
Would love to see a firepower demonstration of the Bushmaster III 35mm though. The one i watched with the Swedish 40mm was very impressive, so I'm wondering how they compare.

Answer:
The Bustermaster III is much more precise at long ranges.
And Rheinmetall's programable Ahead ammunition with 152 3.3 gram tungsten-pellets should pretty effective against most targets.

Info on Rheinmetall's Skyranger that uses the same ammunition.
