Have just bought "Tigers in the Mud" by Otto Carius. He was one of the great panzer Aces but he was not mentioned in either of Frank Kurowski's two books on Panzer Aces.
He got 150 tanks, the Knight's cross with Oakleaves and survived the war to write about it in detail.
The book is available in Paperback from J.J. Fedoroowicz and has an ISBN number 0-8117-2911-7
It has great photos and 6 interesting documents which have been translated into English
New? lol... I picked it up a few years ago... I'm pretty sure it was in Atlanta, so that makes it at least five years old...

It is a nice easy read... interesting about life on the Eastern Front... as a tanker... Baron von Beergut sent me one in the big sand box which I think was called Sniper, about a sniper on the Eastern Front... It was also an interesting read... I shipped it home when I moved south...

Take care,

Thanks for the comment Jim despite your busy and important life.
Interesting to see that you are only a Private First Class as you are really our Field Marshall
I have that book too.
I think there is a scenario that is roughly based around it?

Pip, FYI, Jim's "forum rank" is based on the number of posts he has made under his current forum name. He could also change it in his Control Panel settings. Maybe to A Grumbler II, #1 GROG, or simply NUMBER ONE? ;)
But, I am sure Jim is not about that stuff. :smoke:

cheers

Pip,

Not sure my life is any busier or important than anyone else's... I just have to work 7 days a week... 365... 13-15 hours a day on average... some more some less...

As to my message board rank... this is my deployment account... my home computer has my "Club Commander" moniker on it... But I can never remember the password.. So, I use this one... This is also on the new computer... LOL...

In 30 days, I should be back on US soil... Deep in the Heart of Texas... Of course, lots of work between now and then... but we're all looking forward to it...

Take care...

Jim von Krieg of Iraq
We will all be glad to hear that you are back and even us Australians will say (as you lot do) "Hail to the Chief."
