[attachment=2418]regarding Scud's previous thread about the free recorder software, I've checked it out and attach a file for all to watch and judge.
It runs a little bit slower than the game but, as Scud stated, could be a new innovation for AAR's, Tutorials, etc.
Comments would be appreciated!

Cool, I looked at it last night, but I knew you would run with it, lol.

I expected to see some footage from our epic ;)
just e-mailed ya Dan regarding that, lol!
I finally got a chance to play with it too. I had a little trouble with the install. If the setup.exe results in the program crashing, install the wmencoder.exe as well. I would have thought the setup installer would have done that, but no.

The frame rate is slow, so don't expect the results to be perfect. The more professional ones, like Camtasia, allow you to alter that, but the file sizes are huge. I guess the developer figured this would be a decent alternative quality:size ratio. I haven't tried the audio.

Nice work Glint!
Cheers Scud!
Yeah, I had a struggle with the install, even after patching it, seemed I had something missing to enable it to run, but then I right clicked the file and ran as administrator and that seemed to do the job.
I agree with you Scud, the frame rate is a bit slow but, as I've shown, it enables a small file to be uploaded easily and it's not tediously slow to watch.
Probably a benefit for new players watching a tutorial.
I personally think it's an extreme find for the community, Scud. Could be put to use in all manner of ways, all kudos to you matey for bringing our attention to it.

Well, here's a segment of a large game I'm play-testing.
Just thought I'd put it up in the pursuit of furthering the facility available.
Can you imagine the use re someone showing a clip of 'how to do it' in a tutorial session?
I see the previous clip got a few downloads, can anyone else contribute to this thread about their' thoughts on the facility?
Whoops! Seems like it's too large a file, (about 20 mins worth) - anyone interested in seeing it, e-mail me and I'll send it.

I should mention that you can use Windows Movie Maker (also free) to edit the WMV's that Screen Recorder makes. It's a pretty easy video editing app geared toward amateurs. Very intuitive. Resaving to a smaller screen size will result in smaller file sizes for uploading.

If anyone really wants to go nuts with tutorials, don't worry about the final file size, just upload your finished video to youtube and supply a link!
Yeah, just discovered that myself Scud, lol!
Anyway, seems the new facility isn't attracting anyone else?
Shame!
