I have a Russian friend who got very interested in the game but he doesn't speak English. If he byes the game is there any way I can translate for him at least main menus and change it from English to Russian? If it is possible, what files I should open to do that?

I'd probably just write the translations in a document, laid out in a similar fashion as the menu.

Most of the menu items one commonly uses is found along the bottom of the screen; they are graphic which should offer some intuitive interpretation.

Yes we had this idea. Just would be more convenient. If there is no other way, this is the only thing we can do I guess...

You can change most of the menu (M) items using a resource hacking tool, I just did this with Stefans fine Divided Ground mod dealing with the Cold War, I'm helping to test with. He has it all in German, and while I understand some, it was too confusing, so it took about 3-4 hours with Reshack and PEresource editor to change it all back to English! Some items you need to then use a hex editor to change in the EXE's also, that you can't use the afore mentioned editors!! Not for the faint of heart, but doable!

The items you use the hex editor for are tricky, they need to stay in certain length of bytes (i'm not a programmer, so sorry to not use correct terminology!), but the menu items using the other two editorse, can be varied lengths, withing confines of the actual menu space alotted. Say for instance, in the game header screens where it says Allied or Axis starshells, you can't have too long of a word before starshell, or it will toss starshell off!

As far as cyrillic support, I don't know, but I'm sure the translations can be done...

Did not understand everything, but changing menu (M) items seems to be working using Reshack :)

That's all we wanted for now. Maybe later if I have more time I'll try to go dipper.

Thanks a lot!
