More of a player than a person who dabbles into the game mechanics.
So playing with explicit supply what happens if supply units arrive not on the beachhead hex but on the sea hex adjacent to the beach.
Are you able to trace a supply line into the sea hex and therefore draw supplies ?.
I also have supply units arriving in hexes surrounded and enclosed by a ditch but it appears that you can draw supplies in this case, however I used my engineers to demolish the obstruction so maybe this has allowed me access to them.
Any explanation and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What game are you playing? Off hand the only unit to arrive at see are naval units and the like. Ground units arrive on the beach. But But you could be playing Sicily and an Airborne Supply marker may have scattered at sea. But Paratrooper units arriving at sea are lost

I don't think so.

If your Eng demolished the Obstruction then the Obstruction is gone - not present so no longer a factor. But it suggests to me you are playing a no stock scn file as I can't think of a scn that comes with teh games that has ditches next to beaches - at least I don't think there are any.

Playing Normandy # Grand Campaign Game V1.3 by Indragnir based on Jon Sowden's earlier version.
Just received word that this could be meant to represent the Mulberries or LST's unloading over the open beaches.
Also confirmation that so many supplies arrive throughout the campaign that the stranded supply vehicles are totally irrelevant.
However I prefer to tidy up minor glitches.
I have run into the same problem with Jon Sowden's Normany campaign two years ago still has not been fixed, you may want to reconsider playing this one. Here are the replies I have recieved;

Actually, I found that the supplies in Normandy for the allies are scarce. You really have to know how to manage them, and keep your offensives local to an area or you will find most of your units on Low Ammo, and maybe Low Fuel. One way is to leave your supplies in travel mode until you get them to where you want, as they cannot be used then.
Thanks for the feedback which goes a long way to explain why some of the problems with the arrival of supplies arise.
As my opponent pointed out at Omaha we don't seem to have a problem I.E. no supplies landing on the German side of the defences, as I'm struggling to exit the beaches. Utah no problems whatsoever.
Thought at first that overstacking was causing the supply units to arrive in a adjacent hex, but was careful to ensure that the arrival hex was vacant before bring on the supply unit.
This only happens sofar at the British beaches so at least we are narrowing down the fault.
Supplies for the Allies are reasonable and adequate for the ongoing battles midway thro the second day of operations, capturing some German ones have no doubt helped.
