I currently have Campaign Peninsula and have been enjoying it very much so i figured it was time for another title in the series, and Musket & Pike while i'm at it. ;)
But as my knowledge of the battles of the ACW is pretty poor i thought i would ask what you guys think is the next most enjoyable title to give a try?
Also while i'm thinking of it can anyone recommend a good book or series of books dealing with the ACW as i'm in need of another good read.

I recommend ACW Antietam and Gettysburg. You should buy these along with Stephen W. Sears' books "Landscape turned red: The Battle of Antietam" and "Gettysburg", well about the Battle of Gettysburg :)

I'd recommend HPS Gettysburg if you don't have a preference. It has a ton of scenarios, probably the best campaign tree, and the maps are large allowing for real maneuver. Some of my favorite ACW books would include the trilogy by Shelby Foote, even with his southern bias, and Coddington's Study in Command concerning the ACW and the battle of Gettysburg.
I'm sure you will get many games put forth as a good one so my input is when ready and if possible use this web site as 6 ACW titles are currently on sale so maybe you can get more than one.

Thanks for the thoughts guys, i shall start looking into those games now.
I know a little about the battle of Gettysburg as i have the film on DVD so assuming the film is accurate then it would seem a good choice, as for the battle of Antietam (did i spell that right?) i know next to nothing but i shall Google it now and see what i get.
I shall also look up those authors and see what reviews i can find.

Do you own Matrix JT Battleground? It comes with the Napoleon games and can be downloaded.

DOH! yes i own the JTBG games and bought both the ACW and Nappy games in a pack but so far i've only dabbled with the Nappy title. Of course the ACW title comes with both Gettysburg and Antietam so it would seem a shame to double up on the same battles again, unless the difference in the two game engines makes it worth having both titles still. :conf:
Better start looking for another HPS title instead.
