Full Version: scenario upload function broken

It doesn't work right atm. Only the first page you fill out get's makes it into the database. I got an error message and the zip file itself was not uploaded.
Can one of the technicians take a look? Perhaps it has to do with the migration to a new server recently.

Someone of the Blitz Staff needs to confirm this

The issue has been already addressed, but may take some time to fix it. :(

Sorry for problems

I do believe that Raz has this sorted out and uploads and downloads works correctly again. You may have to be patient, especially on downloads, as it takes a minute or two to open the FTP area, but it works.
As of last week I could not upload scenario file to either WF or EF.
Von Luck tried to help steer me through the process and I still had no luck.
Huib is right!
I get an error message at the last step....same as he does...
Please help.

Thanks,
Dan
Dan, you say "as of last week" but this was corrected just two days ago and tested and functioned both for uploads and downloads. If you are still getting an error message please send up a copy of what you're getting, because for us who have tested it, it works.
Will do.
I'm in Mexico (on business unfortunately) so sometime next week I'll give it another go. It is likely this is simply a case of operator error...as in I'm not doing it correctly.
Thanks,
Dan
It works now. Thanks for making this possible.

A small error is still that on some parts of the site not all characters are displayed properly, among places is the description field of the scenarios. German Umlauts don't seem to be supported see example:

...the 325th Glider regiment on the eastern flank was ordered to capture the heights of Hé de Hierlot. These were defended by GR 164, commanded by one of Germany's most decorated officers, Oberstleutnant Arthur Jüttner.....

This should be Hé de Hierlot and Arthur Jüttner.

This must be a setting somewhere.

Huib, yes we are aware that not all language characters are supported.

The truth is that the way the site is set up is sort of a kluge that resulted from the efforts of at least 4 different webmasters, and it has a few quirks. The site is being redesigned from the ground up, and when it's relaunched it should all flow a bit more smoothly. But until then we prefer to have Raz work on the redesign mostly, and fix serious problems (like the FTP upload not working) but not take any time chasing minor things that will be fixed with the relaunch later on down the road.

We do apologize for it between now and then. Thanks for your patience.
