hmmmm ... it was snowing in Russia, i had a motorized and armoured units in a Frozen Marsh,
in the next turn the weather change to Mud conditions ... the unit cannot move from terrain, so what to do ??
("go on foot" is not in case here)
Been there; done that. Afraid you're out of luck ... nothing to do but wait til it freezes again.
If it is motorized or mechanized infantry then you could tell them to go on foot, but if it is a vehicle or gun unit of either type then you are out of luck as SGT Rice said.

I have done that myself and there is a famous incident of someone here at the Blitz getting their entire King Tiger battalion in Bulge 44 stuck in a marsh. :o You just have to be very careful with the weather forecast. I think it adds a very interesting element to the game.

Yup, usually it takes something like this to burn it into the memory.
On a similar note, I was using my engineer with HAS BOATS to ferry troops over the Danube. With my last unit to ferry sitting on the Danube, I moved my engineer unit, only to discover that the guys in the river could no longer move...

I too have done that one (twice actually) - I guess better to suspend the unit movement rather than having them sink in the river, although it gives me the thought of a battalion of men treading water waiting for the boats to come back for them :).

I guess the only thing that needs adding - more for the benifit of those who haven't made this mistake themselves - the Base Terrain is actually shown in the Terrain info -so while the map would have shown the terrain as "Clear", and in fact the game would treat the hex as Clear, the Terrain info would say [Marsh] and that is what players should look for ...along with the forecast of course.

When I was a serious noob, not knowing what the crap I'm doing, I get a whole division stuck in a marsh :cheeky:Eek......I forget what title was that.:chin:Big Grin
I also noticed in a Danube game, I had a couple of Austrian units in rough terrain at the bottom of the map and couldn't get them to move once released. Went tmode, nothing, on foot, nothing, tmode on foot, nothing, wouldn't let me take them out of tmode after that, so all they could do is just sit there and die when the commies showed up.
