I just installed a new graphics card,a Visontek Radeon 2400 PCI with 256mb of ram. Now when I play any campaign series game it moves at a snail pace, even checking on Fast computer/human player it is slow. Any ideas as to what I can do to speed it up,I have the latest drivers also.
I have tried all resolutions, get the same affect.

Dell 530s
Dual Core processor 2.4 ghz
2GB ram
500GB HD
How fast system is loading. In the same time as earlier or maybe little slower.
Did you tried to reinstall the game?
Load times are the same,no problem. I haven't tried reinstalling was trying to avoid doing that since I have downloaded a lot of user made scenarios.
If I play it in 2D mode it is a little faster but nothing like it was prior to the new graphics card installation. Even then when a unit fires or is fired on the shots move in slow motion.
Problem solved. There not being anyway to set the resolution in the game itself, I realized it runs in the mode your desktop is set at. Mine was at 1400x1050. I changed it to 1024x768 and it works great now.
Since you have a huge hdd, copy your scenario folder to somewhere else before you uninstall and reinstall then copy and paste the scenarios over the new install.
Thanks junk2drive, I found my problem but your advice will come in handy if I'm ever faced with reinstalling a game and keeping the scenarios again.

Way to go Bill! Big Grin

Glad you got your graphics problem resolved.

Now you can see my German forces in "stunning" 3-D mode! :whis:

I'll look for you on the Eastern Front soon... cheers
Don't look to hard, just wait until I come up and tap you on your shoulder.
I read all this, but on my machines JTCS runs fine on any resolutions:
1280 x 1024 on my PC and 1680x1050 on my Dell laptop.
Having to downgrade your resolution to 1024x768 hardly seems a solution to me. Are you sure you have the latest drivers for your card?
I know on some machines you have to set your colors 16 bit, but that's also not something I have to do on my machines to have it run smoothly.
