For those interested I haved edited this scenario and added it to the scenario DB. Can't upload the actual file yet so will attach it here. Here is the blurb:

This is the stock 750 turn monster scenario with adjustments
made for play balance. The following changes have been made.
Air interdiction reduced to 20% and effectiveness reduced to
15%. Breakdown values reduced to 5 for both sides. Improved
Position and Trench effectiveness increased to 15% and 30%
respectively. Victory levels completely overhauled and more in
line with a game of this length. Far fewer objective hexes but
with much higher point values and located much further to the
south. Generally they are located to reward the Allied player
as his bridgehead expands. Map exit victory hexes have been added
to reward a successful 'breakout'. Storms are now possible with
the new weather.dat file from 11th June to the end of July.
With very high chances of storm from the 19th June to the 22nd
June in line with historical weather. It is highly recommended
that programmed weather is used. The odd storm will hinder the
Allied advance and give the German player some much needed respite.
Many thanks to the original designers for creating such a great
game.

Warning: The weather.dat file in this version has a possibility of storms. The stock version does not.

I just wanted to correct and clarify one point on the weather.dat file. This file is not link to particular scns. If you open ANY Scn in ANY Game and there is a Weather.Dat file present in the folder, AND you turn on the optional Weather Rule, this file will be read.

...so, if your mod is installed and the weather filer left in play it will be used in any and all of the stock scns. That said - I certainly don't see any problem with this. When Normandy was first released there was not Programmed weather. When we added Programmed weather, added a Weather.dat file - but it was one created by on the player who I think was a blitz member. WHen we added Storms to the weather we didn't ammend the weather file - I guess we hadn't thought of it.

Anyway - your weather file will overwrite the game default file - but if you want to send me the weather.dat in a separate email, we can look to make yours with the storm the game default weather file. I just want to discuss any of your other changes off-line if your interested.

Sure Glenn. I have tried to email you lately about several scenario mods I have done, but I don't think they are getting through for sum reason. Please send me an email so I can reply. My Blitz address is up to date.
cheers
Glenn,

I am assuming that if a player downloads a homegrown weather.dat called "weather.dat" file it will overwrite the stock file? If he called it, "Krakweather.da"t would that file be safer to down load? Then if I want to use it I could rename the stock file, "stockweather.dat" and rename Krak's, "weather.dat".

If I have differing weather.dat files for a game I create 2 new folders in the game folder i.e stock weather and volcano weather. I then hold the files in each folder with the name of weather.dat. I then just overwrite the weather.dat file in the game folder as needed. I have been doing this for K43 for a while now as Volcano's weather.dat is different to the stock weather.dat in K43. Hope this makes sense. Its v late here in oz and I just did a R42 GOW turn so a bit frazzelled. cheers

Yes Marquo - that is it. It isn't like the PDT where you can have two or three. There is only one weather.dat file and only one file with this name can be in the folder. If the file has another name it won't be read. And not everyone can go in and rename a file when they want to use it.

In any case Volcano and I are completely in sync on Weather files - we have an extended period in Alamenin so as to cover his COmpass period for instance.

Anyway - I like the idea of having the Storms in Normandy and I am glad Krak has done it - I hope to use his file in the Default game as long as tehre isn't too many other significant changes unless those changes have some justification. And that is what I will talk with him on off line

Glenn
hmm... I am playing a Normandy game right now..with programmed weather, and I took a look and see that there is a weather.dat file with storms in it. Perhaps it came with Vocano's pak...the scenerio is one of his, the Campaign 1x_alt.
Email sent Glenn :)
Hi Krak

Having just downloaded and installed your scenario for a look-see, it comes up with the dreaded "error reading scenario file" when I try to load it to play.

Is this possibly because there is no OOB file issued with your download? (I'm not sure??) can you have another look at it and check for us?

I really like the idea of introducing storms to the Normandy game, as in my experience, the ability of the Allies to advance is much greater than was historically the case, and IMO the Germans definately need some further help in the CG's of this title.

Cheers cheers
