Pursuant to his request, Ed Silcox, aka Silkster53, has stepped down from the position of CS Ladder Communty Commander and returned to the rank and file as a regular member of the Blitz.

It is with a sense of gratitude and some regrets that the Blitz grants this request and we send Ed back to the ranks with a profound sense of debt for his hard work and tireless efforts in support of his hobby and his Club. Please join me in wishing him the best for the future.

Concurrent with this change, the Blitz is pleased to announce the promotion of Erik, aka Hawk Kriegsman to the position vacated by Ed. I have every confidence that the CS Ladder Community will support Erik in the same gracious manner it has supported Ed (and before Ed, Randy, and before Randy, Jim) and continue to be the foundation stone upon which the Blitz War Gaming Communities rest.

Three cheers for Ed!! cheers cheers cheers

Edit: I just realized that Ed's resignation said he wanted to resign "late on the 31st", which in my haste I read as "no later than the 31st". So I went ahead and made the changes. I wish to publicly apologize to Ed for that slip up, it was unintentional.

Yes Ed, thanks for all you have done. There will be a hole in the Officers board without you around.

And congratulations to Hawk... I wish you all the best in filling Ed's big boots.
Ed thank you for all you have done for the Blitz and CS.

Thank you for being my friend and helping me over the 5+ years I have been here.

You will be missed in the OB.

Best wishes to you and your family.

I salute you sir.

cheers
Kudos Ed!

Live long and prosper
Congratulations to the both of you.
Ed, glad you’re going to keep playing.
Hawk, you have my support.
Ed,

I'm sorry to see you go, but congrats on well deserved retirement. cheers At least, you'll still be around to knock my troops around the battlefield.

Erik,

cheers

Congrats on the promotion. I am sure it will be a very seemless transition, but I still expect my turns in a timely manner. ;)

Mike
Thanks all. I had a message prepared but the timing was a little off. ;)
If you can bear with me:

Campaign Series Ladder Commander

It is time.
I joined The Blitz in July of 2002. Since that time the Campaign Series Ladder has had tons of players who wanted to PBEM, participate in tourney's, test scenarios, and share their banter about the game they loved. I've had the honor of playing many of the Campaign Series Ladder members and the privilege of reporting over 1,000 games and serving as an officer of the club.
The Blitz became my home away from home, my "second wife". The Campaign Series was my "safe harbor", refuge, and paradise away from all the stresses of real life.

As all of you know, I am not happy with the "upgrades" that have been forced upon the game. To me it more changed the game and was unneccessary. I do love all the add-ons and unit changes. Just not the Variable Visibility and Close Assault rules being included as a hardwired component. My Mona Lisa has a moustache! I can honestly say that now my heart is not 100% in the game and my enthusiasm has really waned because of it. It even creeped into my responsibilities as an officer of the club.
I believe the Campaign Series Ladder members deserve better than what I am capable of giving at the moment. I was hoping to step down on a more positive note. But, now is the time for me to step down and assume a regular ladder member position.

I know that I will be leaving the Campaign Series Ladder in capable hands. Both Hawk Kriegsman and Valor have the spark that I have lost. Erik and Slawek can take it from here. I will do my all to support them as they take the Campaign Series in the direction of their choosing.

Sincerely,

Ed Silcox
