Installed PC-Cillin 2008 antivirus software (Trend Micro). Now it detects "virus" witprec.exe in WITP folder and quarintines it. Game won't function without it. Is it a case of mistaken identity? PCC 2007 had no problems with the program.

Yes, its a problem with your AV package !.
I have CA on my machine and it doesnt pick up that file as a virus.
