A scenario, we know, consists of three elements -.map, .org, .scn.
Let us call it X and thus we have X.map, X.org and X.scn. The scenario is complete and is in its appointed place in the directory

Questions
1. If I rename X.map to Y.map, will X.scn play?
2. If I rename X.org to Y.org, will X.scn play?
3. If I rename X.map and X.org to Y.map and Y.org, will X.scn play?
4. If I rename X.scn to Y.scn, will X.scn play...yes it will.
5. If I remove X.map and X.org from the directory, will X.scn play....I don't think so
6. If in PBEM one player only renames X.scn to say A.scn, will it play?

If nobody knows the answer (unlikely) I can experiment and blow up something.
Rod,

If you F... with any of the file "Names" ...you will be hosed...

Cheers
Curt
If you want to experiment with any scenario copy and paste original files to another folder then rename then put them back into original folder this wont overwrite the original files. This way you can do what you like with it.
Changing the map name will cause the scenario to not load a map when trying to play.Changing the OOB file name or even using the "save as" option will cause all the units to disappear...or at the least they will have no org base etc...........anyway best not to change file names........

1. Only if the scn is made after rename of map
2. Only if the scn is made after rename of org
3. Only if scn is made after rename of org and map
4. Yes
5. No
6. Yes, the scn file is not necessary if you have the bte, map and org files (so if your opponent starts the game you don't need the scn file)
