During Action Reports and After Action Reports

Was just wondering if there is enough interest to get some of these going here in the SP community?

They are a big hit on other ladders and i have had fun doing them in the CM ladder.

Its quite easy, just make a thread for example - Wigam vs Weasel DAR (No looking Weasel) - Thats sort of thing.

Most times the other player does his own thread and everyone else gets a good laugh out of reading them...or some tips.

And i know the first thing that everyone is thinking - my opponent will look at my DAR. Find someone you trust, its half the fun and puts some pressure on as you know that others are watching and seeing boths sides of the battle. There are alot of trustworthy players in the SP community.

Any thoughts?
Personaly I like reading them and I dont mind writing them, I hop I get a few outta Europa Twilight.:)
It was actually after visiting the ET web site that i saw your page for AAR's and thought more about it for SP. In CM they are evrywhere and bonus points are actually awarded for those who complete one from start to finish and if they are good and well read.

Just a carrot out there. :)
I really want players in ET to write things up, thats how others learn, in fact I might give points for it as well, thats a good idea.
My thoughts are that During Action Reports should be read by opponents during the battle. That's what makes them so interesting.

When you write DARs you have a good idea what your opponent already knows, so go ahead and write about it; but the fun is using the DAR as psychological warfare. Give select info away, or fail to mention some details, or put spin on your true situation. :stir:

Your opponent doesn't see the whole picture, and you get an opportunity to paint some of it yourself, in colours of your choosing. Big Grin

As for AARs, I sometimes post them here at the Blitz, but I didn't post my last PBEM Campaign AAR here. I did post it over at the Shrapnel site. That was battle 9 and can be read here:

Well mostly too lazy to write one, but i´ll try in one of my new games..
The important fights are told at Russian forum SPR.
Besides an exchange of experience, it rallies a command for achievement of a general victory !
And also involves new volunteers.

And it is a lot of time later it is interesting to re-read business of bygone years - nostalgia. :)

To arrange new battle ! :smg:
