I believe we can give the H2H program a good jumpstart
by increasing the points awarded.
Intead of awarding 40 points for reporting a certain scenario, lets
say we make it 120 points.
Since there seems to be a serious contest on the ladder for the top 20 positions right now..( especially between me, otlig and the Big Dawg) this would make testing a few xtra scenarios quite enticing....
I would certainly test another scenario in H2H....

What say you.....???

Brilliant idea, Eddie!

Sweeten the pot & more people would play them.:stir:
No you don't need to increase the bonus points for H2H.

You need to give people the bonus points AND let them report the game on the ladder.

That would be plenty of incentive.

You could offer me a 1000 bonus points and it still would not get me to test.

I want the credit for the game played.

I truly believe that if people got bonus points and credit for a game played more testing would be done on the CS H2H.

Thanx!

Hawk
Hawk my friend...
What is stopping you from reporting a tested game on the ladder.
That is a arrangement you make with your opponent, not a special
favor giving to you by the ladder custodians...
and I believe if you were offered a 1000 points to test a scenario you
would be the wiser to accept the offer....

Cheers, cheers

This under section 3 of the H2H FAQ.
Quote:When you have finished the scenario DO NOT report it as usual, both players should click the Rate Scenario button (back at the scenario entry screen on the right), and fill in the form with all positive and negative comments in as much detail as possible. When you have finished scroll to the bottom and click the Rate Scenario button and the designer will be automatically emailed your comments and be able to adjust the scenario accordingly.

So if I report the game on the ladder I cannot put in a test report. If I put in a test report I cannot put it on the ladder.

Thanx!

Jeepster,
Hawk is correct, you either test a scenario or you play a ladder game, you cannot do both without breaking club policy.

Thank you for your idea about awarding more points for testing, this is under review as we speak, but don't expect the points awarded to be any greater than what you would have earned for playing a similar sized ladder game.

I would say the same about increased participation on the CS H2H......don't expect it.

Thanx!

Foul and Hawk....

I believe if the scenario is reported as a generic "Scenario SM2"
no harm would be done..

If I can remember correctly one of my opponents who helped
me test a scenario insisted upon reporting the game and
I saw reason to say no......

Personally I do not report H2H Test games on the ladder because
of the balancing question....

Eddie,

You missed the point. You cannot "get around" following the rules?
And, "generic" SM game reports need the permission of the ladder commanders. They are not at the members whim. Fiery Whip

So far the discussions of the club's officers, is that H2H games cannot be reported as ladder games. And, many changes are up for review.
I will not state which side I am on. But, when the time comes I am sure that all will know how much I respect those who put their time in to test games, whether they use the H2H area or not. Toast

I feel another Newsletter article coming.

cheers
Guys,

I think we have 2 problems..

(1) We need more people to try H2H games.

(2) I think some do not play H2H because they want ladder points.

If we awarded extra points then perhaps more people would try them.

hugs & kisses.....:eek1:
