I realy don't think re nameing units is a bad thing. One of the things I like to rename is when my units get injured or when they have a certain amount of Ammo such as ATGM's or Hand grenades or Hand held Antitank Weapons it really helps me to keep my units organized a lot better. When I do this I know it will create some Fog of War. That is not my intention but for the most part it works.
I hope SP Camo make so that was less data on the opponent in fight.
It is a known example when green soldiers suddenly fight as the tempered veterans. :)
But me laziness to rename the armies and under the private contract it is usual with the opponent of it it is not done.
More important process of fight, instead of a victory at any cost. ;)
I have a habbit of renaming my HQ to 'Big Chief'. I'm pretty sure that does not count as fog of war.... ;)
I only PBEM when I play WinSPMT and I rename 90% of my units. I find it very helpful. I can’t tell you how many times I am playing someone and I find a group of APC’s, I then find the ones with the most valuable targets inside and shoot that one.
I don’t want to give my opponent any advantage what so ever.
