Description:
Guebling, 45km ENE of Nancy, France: [Best played against Human opponent] Following the intense tank battles around Arracourt in September and a relatively inactive October, by November 1944 the 4th Armored Division was once again spearheading Third Army's offensive as one of the most experienced armored divisions in the American army. From Chateau-Salins Combat Command A was to advance northeast along the Petite Seille Valley through Benestroff, opening a hole through the defending German infantry divisions. Despite worsening weather the well-rested tankers made steady progress. However, on November 10th the Germans committed the reorganized 11th Panzer Division against the US offensive and by the 12th CCA was once again engaged with its old friends of the 15th Panzer Regiment. Early on the 14th, following a miserable night of mixed rain and snow, Task Force Oden/CCA prepared to punch through Kampfgruppe Ronicke's positions between Benestroff and Dieuze at Guebling. As German reinforcements began to arrive Shermans and Panthers exchanged blows beginning an intense game of thrust and parry across the soggy French countryside.
