I don't know if people already know this. I sure didnt so I thought to share it here. So, I made some testing what happens if you put company leader with +2 combat leadership bonus next to 88 flak.

Picture of 88 flak without any leader. Chances to hit 62%.

If you ask from me 13% better chance to hit is pretty damn nice.

Notes. Leader has to see target to get the benefit of bonus and this work with any type of leader, section, platoon etc.
Yes. Also, put a gun in woods with a leader who has a "?" rating and the enemy will have a hard time spotting the gun, even after he opens fire.

Good point, you mean stealth bonus. +2 combat and +2 stealth is sure nice leader for ATG. :)

EDIT: Actually I made some testing. I've always thought stealth works only if sneaking or hiding. I put both guns in woods and changed company leader bonus from +2 combat to +2 stealth. Both KV's are regulars they spotted them exactly where the guns were. Weather was clear and midday so thats probably make it easier for them but I didnt see any different in fact my gun with a leader got destroyed first.
Sounds like a case for POS to take into his CM laboratory and crunch the numbers......
doesnt matter how sneaky the leader is when firing an 88 over open ground.

Use a 37mm pak firing from scattered trees. You will see a diffence.

Didn't know the leader had to see the target - thanks for the info...
Okay I just ran this series of tests, it simply confirms what's already been said, namely that a leader boosts a guns accuracy if he meets three requirements -
firstly he must have a Command Rating
secondly he must be able to see the target
and thirdly he must place the gun in command
(He can be any rank, the guy below is a humble infantry platoon leader)
Reminder - the lightning flash in his data strip means he has a command rating of '1', and the hilite box round it adds another '1', so his command rating is 2 (the maximum) which boosts accuracy more than a '1'.

1 - Here the guns hit chance is 42% because its out of command..
2 - The leader moves up to put the gun in command, but its hit chance is still only 42% because the leader can't see the target KV-1.
3 - The leader moves forward slightly and can now see the target and bingo! the guns accuracy gets a boost..:)

hmmmf - and for almost 300 games I've been hiding the commander out of LOS....

Me too for six years of CM-playing, so my thanks to Sissisimo for ending my ignorance..:)
Me too - learn something new every day!

Sound of leaders with combat bonus slithering forwards on their bellies...
