Well, unless the Russians are using captured panzerfausts, there really isn't a difference, in aggregate, of the assasult and hard attack ratings between the two sides.

Thus if the strong German inf. AT weapons are modeled, I don't see those reflected in the ratings.

Most Russian infantry have a hard-attack rating of 6/1 as do most German infantry.

Assault values: Both sides have a mix of 12 to 16 (18 for pioneers).

I believe that the values for the Germans should be significantly higher.
One factor that would even out the ratings, potentially, are that the divisional AT gun assets, on both sides, are integrated into the HA ratings. Looking at just the guns, I would say the ratings are accurate accounting for type, numbers and effectiveness. Considering the close in weapons, then I would agree the Germans should have an advantage at the infantry level. However, I wouldn't say this advantage should be significant, maybe a couple of points - an 8 vs a 6 maybe.

I think the preeminen weapon represented by the Russian inf-at would be the PTR AT rifle, followed by AT mines and Molotovs.

These weapons pale in comparison to the German's AT weapons.

The system sells the germans far, far short if it essentially equates the two.
But it isn't just the infantry weapons, for which I agree the Soviets don't come close to comparing. The rating represents the actual AT guns on both sides also, maybe even primarily, for which there is little difference overall, I think.

Rick
Rick, you are talking about the AT guns that were intrinsic to the infantry formations and not represented by an AT "counter" in the game, right????
Exactly Jim, that is what I tried to say in my first post. This specific game does not have division level AT units for either side, except for some motorized ones for the German divisions. Otherwise, all the towed divisional AT guns are represented by the HA ratings of the infantry units.

Rick
So that HA rating represents 45mm guns then?
Don't forget the Russians had these puppies

Agree. Except what confuses me about B45 is that the basic German INF and PZGR units have HA ratings of 6 and a range of 0. Why? Did they have no ATGs left?
