Any takers for the stock Historical Bulge Campaign Scenario 16_01s? I would prefer to play Allied as I am already in a game as German. I like to use the following opt rules. But prepared to negotiate.

Recon spotting
Opt surrender
Low vis air effects
Quality fatigue mod
Opt fire results
Opt assault results
Higher fatigue recovery
Indirect fire by map
Counter battery fire
Night fatigue
No Low fuel
Programmed weather

I prefer the stock supply rules.

Please reply only if you are already on the PZC ladder.
Cheers
The stock CG is really tough on the Germans unless the Allies quit early; 10 German wins vs. 21 Allied.
How are you fairing in your other game?

I'm tempted because I love Bulge
...but give me Maximum German Effort.

Bob
I will take up the challange although Im an inactive player. If anyone does not call up give me a message on e-mail.
Rules are ok but without "no low fuel "

Hi Rev
I had a look at the Max Effort. Seems a bit too much in favour of the Axis for me. The extra 2 Panzer Divisions worry me. I am going ok in my German historical game. I would like to play as Allied in the historical game. I would like to take you on as your record is impressive. If not in this then perhaps something else. Let me know.
Cheers

Thanks Wonderwall I have an opponent.
Cheers
Krak,
The one time I did play as the Germans in Max Effort, I lost even with those two PzDiv so you can imagine my hesitation in going without them.
Did you have something else in particular in mind?

Bob
Hi Bob,

I generally prefer the Historical scenarios. If you feel the game is a bit unbalanced (I can't judge it as I haven't played as Allied) how about we adjust the Victory Levels to address the bias? For example reducing the German levels required for victory by -5000. Just an idea.

If I had played a game as Allied I would be in a better position to make a call. Have you played both sides?

Alternatively are there more balanced campaigns you are interested in?

Cheers
Michael
Michael,
Yes, in my opinion the stock historical CG it is rough on the Germans. The scn database agrees with the record over 2:1 in favor of the Allies. Of course, it is just an opinion and really depends on the players' styles.
I'm in the midst of a Volcano Man's ALT historical CG and I'm holding my own as the Allies counterattack. I think VM's version is better because it allows the Germans to breakdown into companies and has a more accurate reinforcement schedule. However, his changes to combat values and such does mean you have to learn some new ways of playing and use his opt rules.
I also enjoyed Bajan's & Von Egan's Dark Winter version of the historical CG. The OOB is really detailed and accurate and the limited daylight truly reflects the historical visibility. Way cool. My opponent didn't finish the CG we started though so I don't know how it turns out endgame.
Richards made a few modifications to the stock historical CG in his German Coy version. He lowers the VPs, allows Germans to breakdown, and changes a few morale ratings. Small changes that help the Germans.
Jennings' Wacht am Rhein(Herbstnebel) is a major refit. I toying with it solitaire now.
Those are the historical Bulge CGs that are out there which I am familiar with. We can try one of them
OR
I can relent :) and we can play the stock CG.

Enjoy,
Bob
Hi Bob
I found a Modified OOB Bulge at this site, but its not Richards, its Greg Smith. It has German Breakdowns, but VP's are still the same. It looks ok to me. Where is Richards game? I would like to stick to games we can log at this site after the result. Maybe I just didn't see it. My eyes aren't what they used to be.
Cheers
Michael
PS How do you feel about my opt rules?
Michael,
In the scn database Richard's one is right above the modified one you're talking about - German Company OOB.

As for your opt rules, I don't usually play with all of those, but only a couple I'd question (No Low fuel & Indirect fire by map). That said, I'll adapt to whatever you want to play with.

From now on, why don't you just e-mail me
