Just to let my opponents know that i've finally got meself a job :whis:......at long bloody last (shakes fist at Job Centre).....and i'm not sure of my new daily routines yet, starts Monday. I'll try to keep playing every evening but i'm not sure how knackered i'll be yet so advanced apologies for any delays.
I know one thing.....no more late nights playing COD4 as it's a 07.30 start.
Still it's nice to have a job again. :smoke:

If you love the job, the paycheck will be larger. Or at least it used to be that way. I started working for myself back in the early 80's, so I haven't seen a 'real' paycheck since before most of youse guys were born.

But i think grumbler is right, i am finally working in a job that i love and the paycheck is really good. Its been 5 years in this job and I love it more all the time. Oppotunities, good work mates and not one day is the same as the next. :)
And when you find a job like that the paycheck doesn't even matter much. I've turned down couple of very well payed jobs because I knew they were high stress, break neck jobs.
The best time to start your own business is while working a good job. Good jobs don't leave you too stressed to find your own niche.
I have been looking at the blogging game. I get my checks every 3 months. It can get a little rough along about week 10.
So I need something that I can more or less play at that will give a little monthly check. Beer and gas type money.
The blogging thing takes an hour or so per day for the first 6 months or so, then maybe half that for the next 6 months. Then it shouldn't take more then 10 minutes a day or so. No money at first, but if you keep it up and get people to participate, it can get up into the thousands per month range. Not a living wage for sure, but a nice little bonus and a fall back if unemployed. Plus having a blog makes finding a job easier, or so I've been told. It's networking on a global basis.

Since you asked. IIRC, the record for a month is 84,000 US$ I consider that somewhat beyond the pocket change range.
There was one guy who sold Each Pixel on his web site for 10$ At the resolution he used , he became a millionaire. That is WAAAAY beyond pocket change. Even for Bill Gates.
A good blog will draw a million hits per month. That is 100 US$ per ad. Put 10 ads on the site and you have 1,000. All for a few hours work per week.
Not at first of course. It takes years to grow your audience to the point where you can just cruise along, making money 24/7.
It doesn't pay as well as hanging out in a cube farm, moving that paper, but it doesn't take as much time either. Plus you still have income when you are between cube farms. For us old retired geezers, It's not a bad gig. That is why I'm looking into it. I think I have figured out a hook, now I just need to work out the details.
