Are these any different than the old Talonsoft 32 bit games?

Been a while since I played a battleground game (had a modem back then). I tried downloading updates and 32 bit version of BGN from Rich Hamilton's page. No automatic defensive fire, and PBEM did not work....Oh well
...I still like those graphics!
