It would be great if a Polish speaking person could shed some light on this. Speaking as a wargamer, these plans could provide some fascinating insights for creating scenarios for NGP.
Darn good article. That would make for some really good scenarios. cheers
There used to be a guy on The Blitz with call sign "Spooky" who I played against a few years ago...he was a Pole living in Warsaw. You might want to email him.

During my research i found this and many other articles on WP plans and even a bunch of maps that i referred to, there was a conference in Stockholm a few years back that had a top ex-soviet general and he revealed a few things that were interesting like having no plans to attack through Austria. Theres a map with a bunch of mushroom clouds all over it to. I have it all on my CPU but right now im visiting my sister in Boondocks Arkansas so i only have a 56k connection and im not going to try to upload anything. Maybe when i get home.

Paris, Texas??? PM sent.
I'm Polish speaking person!
And I saw these plans and maps.
What do you want to know more about it?

The uncovered plans were dated 1979.
They assumed the creation of the separate Polish (Coast) Front with two armies (each army: three divisions in first echelon and two in the second).
The 1st Army would attack Denmark through the Jutland Penninsula.
(8th MRD, 12th MRD, 20th AD and 16th AD, 15th MRD)
The 2nd Army would attack along line Luneburg - Bremen towards the Netherlands against Dutch 1st Corps.
(4th MRD, 5th AD, 11th AD and 10th AD, 2nd MRD)
In that case Soviet 2GTA would easily focus on assault on 1st W.German Corps.

I could even upload the photo of the presented map - if I find it and if you explain me how to do it here...

But I'm sure, the uncovered plan is just the one of the possible solutions assumed then.
Besides, creating own Polish Front that time (and especially later - in 80's ) was rather nothing but a wishful thinking of some ambitious Polish generals...

Is this what the news article refers to as the "Seven Days to the River Rhine" attack scenario?

I also thought the plans may have also been for earlier times. For me, a fascinating "what if" would have been the outbreak of NATO v. Warsaw Pact confrontation in October 1962 as a result of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
