Finlly got Silent Hunter up and going and scored my 1st kill on my 2nd patrol. very addictive this game.

Looks like your out of torp reloads though, that's the prob with those small coastal U-Boats. Don't forget to use the thermal layers for an edge when using the hydrophones to look for contacts.

yeah. had two torps left and found a Type 2 freighter over near my assigned patrol area and put 1 fish into it, but the 2nd missed as the 1st torp made the freighter lose too much speed, and it over shot.

But thermal layers in the North Sea. i thought it might be too shallow?

I know what you mean, i never realized how shallow the North Sea was. There are thermal layers at about 25, 50 and 70 meters, and i always use the hydrophones myself until i get a crewman with decent skills at it.

How do you tell the thermal layers in SH3?

I have dropped SH now and am playing Brothers In Arms (Hill 30 and Earned in Blood). Very well done game "Sarge, get down man", "I'm taking fire here", "You're gonna get me killed" etc, pretty cool. Needs the aim patch though, because without it you can be right beside a German and still miss him, the aim patch fixes that though.

I love the little coastal boats. I normally pick them so I can sneak into Scapa Flow. The first couple of times there was nothing there, but now that I use the harbor traffic patch there is normally something in dock.

Use your deck gun and AAA for the next fellow, or you can ram the fishing boats.

I am playing in career mode and at the moment all my boat has is a pidly 2 cm flak gun, and i am limited to 5 torpedos.:hissy:

Helo 3 came out at midnight last night. Wonder what its like.

From the reviews i've read Halo 3 looks like a corker and i'll be sure to get it for the 360, those sort of games make party play a real larf.

I was looking at HALO 2 for my PC but it only runs on VISTA (nice way of MS to force people to upgrade). However, a search of the torrent sites has a netted a patch that converts it from Vista to XP.

Just got Ghost Recon 2 too.

R U using any mods like SH3 commander, or Grey Wolves or Tonnage War? I like SH3 Commander myself, it allows you to view and actual career log with ship names sunk etc. Just rounds out the character a bit more, plus it also allows you to tweak the game a bit more and corrects U Boat dates etc.
