I'm constructing a scenario design and wonder if someone could advise me over Victory conditions scores?
It involves equal 6000pt forces each with 1500pts of objective points held, each side at the beginning.
It's a hypothetical scenario and the intention is for either force to grab the other sides objectives and destroy as much of the enemy forces as possible.
At commencement, obviously the victory score should be in the centre of the draw range. I tallied with acceptable losses of a ratio of 20% to 30%. Could anyone advise a realistic spread of Major/Minor victories/defeats ?
Your advices would be most appreciated.

Peter
No way to tell for sure until you actually play the scenario.I use 70% and 30% as my basis for first time scenarios.70% would be a major victory and 30% would be a major defeat.I then subtract one from the other and divide by 3 to decide on the minors.
So, in your scenario a major vic would be 6300 and a maj def would be 3000.I would suggest making a minor vic 5300 and a minor defeat 4000.....that will give your a little extra for a draw.
A general rule is that the higher your vp are, the more control you have over balance.
Thanks guys, that's great help from the masters!

I agree that you can't tell until test playing a couple of times in mirror games against different opponents. I vary the percentage to the game and overall difficulty level. For instance it does not do much good to have a big draw spread if neither side can ever achieve a win. Playing the PC will not tell you that. Also it may be a very one sided scn's an you want to adjust the scoring to compensate for that. For instance it may have 1000 total points available but if you know the German SS with Panzers is going to trash the Poles on horseback they it may be that you need 900 points to draw or something like that. Not sure that made sense or not.

Thanks J !
I am playtesting it with Dan. Wouldn't bother with the A1, lol!
I would just like to make it good enough for public use, just my little contribution to the blitz.
Anyway, thanks again for all the info, guys,
I was just inexperienced in getting the vp's correct!

How do you tell the points total? I've only dabbled with DG editor.

Anyone ever have the game load up troops into afvs when you saved the scn file and reopened it later?
Junk:

You open the scn, go to strength and total the points. Then add in the VP hexes.

I pick 5 Soviet Mil Mi-4 Hound gunships. Each platoon has a strength of 4. In the editor, the strength window shows 5 [10VP] Mil Mi-4 Hound Gunship
So I would have to do the math on each unit?
4sp x 10vp x 5plt = 200
yep or when you have the units on the map go open the scn, go to strength and total the points. Then add in the VP hexes
