Hi folks, can anyone confirm the spotting rules for me?

I think if an enemy unit with LOS is destroyed your position will be lost to the enemy next turn if no other enemy unit has LOS?

If an enemy unit with LOS is forced to retreat out of LOS your position will NOT be lost to the enemy next turn even if no other enemy unit has LOS?

Maybe this is true just for the next turns artillery bombardment?
But sometimes it seems true for full LOS for all enemy units next turn.
Thanks, Chris
I've sent some notes over about spotting issues I noticed in my campaign testing so it's on the list to seek and destroy :)
Sounds good. But can anyone clarify the situation at the moment?

P.S. I just noticed I have 2 negative reputation points from 2006 but too long ago to find out why (One I think was due to a joke about paint shells)
The other was from the main man which is a little worrying!

However what is more worrying being superstitious is that my reputation has been stuck on 13 for a while - can anyone please give me either a positive or negative hit please to get me off 13!

Many thanks (+ new scenario coming up about the battle at Rauray soon if that may influence you :) )
Chris
I thought LOS was lost if the enemy did not have LOS either way.

I might be wrong.

I used to have a girlfriend with a "bad reputation". She was fun to hang with. ;)
In my recollection (which is getting very shaky as time goes on) LOS is lost either way, but if your unit is lost/retreated you should still be able to see enemy movements for the rest of the turn, but then they vanish.

I can't speak for the new Matrix edition however.
So far I've noticed that enemy units are still being spotted even after they've been blocked from LOS from wrecks or smoke, for a turn or longer in my WF camp testing,
I think apart from RedDevil's observations everything is as it should be.
I have a feeling though that if a unit is spotting for bombardment but then retreats out of LOS the bombardment will still be accurate and at full effect at the beginning of the next turn. If a spotting unit is destroyed this is not the case. Thanks for the 14 :)

Cheers, Chris
Under the old TS CS, if the spotter was retreated out of LOS, the arty would still arrive. However, there were be random drift. I think that is more realistic and, if ME CS is different, perhaps a change is called for.

The spotting rules should be the same as the original. Why this is happening is being looked into. During my EF playing, it seems to be working as normal.

Please note my observations are using the TS game. I have the Matrix version but have not used it yet.
