One thing I've noticed (because I'm playing the germans in a N44 campaign game) is the impact of air interdiction. But what I've also noticed is that this interdiction not only has an impact on units moving in travel mode, but also on the units they move through.

So your lovely artillery/AT unit can be devastated because that damn ost units moves through the same hex in travel mode. Why does air interdiction hit the stationary unit and not the moving unit? As I say in the thread subject line... please don't move through my hex!

This happened to me a lot. Very annoying. But I just explain it to me this way ... these fighter-bomber pilots were first attracted by my column moving on the road in bright daylight, then when they dived down to strafe it they discovered an even juicier target in the same location. :smg:
The user manual says on Interdiction ...

"As units move on the map in Travel or Rail Mode, there is a chance that their movement will be Interdicted by enemy air units. [...] If Interdiction occurs, then an Air Strike occurs against a unit in the target hex [...]."

Note that it doesn't say that the unit being targeted is the one that triggered interdiction in the first place. Just "a unit".
I think it works okay that way, although it can be a shock having an unmoving artillery unit take the interdiction strike rather than a tank unit. Also, per the users manual the number of units in a hex in travel mode impacts the chances of an air interdiction attack, so passing through stationary units in travel mode is more dangerous. But it still makes it safer to move a single unit in travel mode, rather than a stack, which is normally best for other reasons anyway.
