Full Version: Matrix - Strange problem with replay

I am currently playing the WF scenario "Race against time" using the Matrix version against XLVIII Pz. Korp and have encountered a strange problem during replay of my opponent's turn.

I am handling the germans in this one but instead of displaying my units the action was replayed as if it was the american replay; i.e. I saw all of the american units only and not until my german units started to shoot reaction fire were they displayed. When I pressed escape and continued to the phase prior to my artillery the programme stops and I am not able to get any further. This means that my artillery is not activated and I am not able to do anything because the artillery is not finished.

I have encountered something similar twice before playing EFII in the Talonsoft version but then it was my opponents that had this problem instead. Have anyone else encountered the same problem? Any ideas of why this is happening and/or how it can be fixed?
Are you both using the 1.02 patch?

If so, you both might want to try to go here and install this temporary additional patch.

Thanks for the response Jason. My opponent have been using 1.02 while I have played with 1.01. Installing 1.02 and the additional patch on my computer unfortunately did not help either.

Since I twice previously have encountered similar problem in Talonsoft's EFII I do not think that this one is related to any changes made by Matrix. No one else out there that have encountered anything similar in EF, WF or RS?
most of the time thse things happen when one user is not using a password and sends back the opponents own turn. He then gets the replay his opponent was supposed to see.

No, this was the third turn and we did not have any problems in the turns before that. Further, when the replay was finished, hidden units of the opponent was not seen anymore (i.e. the way it should be) compared to that all enemy units (even those out of LOS) was shown during the replay.

Well, I guess that we were unlucky somehow. Perhaps it was due to using different versions (1.01 vs 1.02).
The more I'm seeing on the boards the more I'm thinking this may have something to do with players running different patch versions. I've been running 1.02a temp ever since it was available. Several of my opponents have not, Morgan for one. Norry and I have experienced similarly strange occurances in WF Battle of the Outposts and I've just found out Norry was not running the 1.02a patch either.

The good news seems to be that in other scenarios I'm playing where both players are using the same version there do not appear to be any "strange goings on" yet.
