Hard to say, but let me hazzard a couple guesses. Is the engineer itself isolated? Is it disrupted (or Broken). Was it disrupted but rallied at turn start (not sure what order things are determined, but I think supply must be first)? Is it deployed? Hard to say for sure without the file or jpg.

The engineer is not isolated, disrupted or in travel mode. It has been deployed and sitting on the opposite bank for two full turns. :conf:
What game is this? The update may not have reached all the titles...

I think that the problem is that it is a full-hex river. My understanding was that you could get supply only across hex-side river and canals.
The game is Stalingrad 42 with the latest update. And I have seen the updated engineer/isolation rule work just the way it's supposed to in this very same scenario in a similar situation across the same river. A bit of a mystery:hissy:

I had a similar problem over a river hexside and I think this was because I built a bridge the same turn I crossed?

If so should that be corrrect?

From the book of Tiller that means the engineer unit would have to move down 1 hex correct ?
The odd thing is, in a similar situation, playing the same scenario crossing the same river, a few hexes North, I ferried across a force using a engineer unit. The ferried units were in supply so long as they stayed within one hex of the river, As I understand the rule is supposed to work. So, I'm still confused why their is a difference in my current game. I wonder what is different?
