So you can use that optional rule, and have squads made up of individual troops. Not just snipers and 1 or 2 men antitank teams?
I have tried to select the "alternate density" box just when I start a new game but I get a prompt that says "you must select this feature at the start of a game" I thought thats what I did, and ideas?

You must do it when you first select the scenario from the main menu, assign sides and select the FOW settings. There's a button for Rules. Once you are into the game its too late.
