Okay another WinMBT 3.5 oddity or is this normal?

When I started the game and called in air strikes (The Gotland battles) I could see my aircraft on replays. Wanting to save them for later in the game I turned their weapons off and sent them in to scout for the Evil Swedes and was surprised to see nothing showed in the replays. They obviously did something as their weapons buttons turned back to ready. So next mission I enabled one of their weapons (anti-tank ordinance) and they still did not show up on the replay. Is this a bug or what?
Fast Art. -- On. ?

I noticed playing scenario on PBEM, that at replay I do not see the planes, but I see result of their supervision and bombing.

I do not know what were preference (Fast Art.) at the opponent.

I'm playing IwoJim at MBT 3.5 and we both have aircraft, so far i've seen both mine and his in replays as they come in on their runs at the battlefield. Big Grin

Maybe they only show if they actually fire at something but not if they just overfly the battlefield?

cheers
Hi Gary

I will check if I have Fast Artillery on.
But you planes ARE flying - we can see them from the other Island (The one you where suppose to invade - not the one you are on;-)

Maybe that is why we have seen nothing although those concrete structures with the attached tank turret and with the Starbucks signs on top of them sure do not look inviting for a cup of coffee :)

And the hunter we found in the woods was obviously hunting elk and not my tour group?

I know my fast artillery is off so hopefully we will see :)
THAT was not a hunter - It was just the leaders of the Boy Scouts who was starting a campfire for all the kids.
Now you are really NOT popular in the local population.

Hard to believe you can start a campfire, and I also question the learning value for the boyscouts, with a sniper rifle. Plus my hikers wonder what the grenades were for?Eek

The boyscout motto is "Be prepared". Sniper rifles fall under that category. The grenades were for fishing. Normally they would use the snipers rifle, but they were in a hurry to get the bear hunting lesson done. Fish or bear, between the sniper rifle and the grenades, you have them all covered. Even the fishy bears with red stars on their caps.
Your air strikes happen during your arty phase. So it makes sense that if the fast arty is on, you won't see the airplane in the replay. You should still see anything that it sees during it's pass. Observed units stay visible until they move to another hex.
