Not having owned EF2 1.03 and RS only a few weeks before I accidentally stepped on the disk and destroyed it... I'm not familiar with the starshells feature.

Question 1: how do I fire them.

Question 2: Is it necessary to tick on "night scenario" in the scn file header to be able to use them? I would like to use them in the visibility 1 night turns in a scenario with dynamic visibility (a scn that has both day and night turns without having "night scenario" ticked)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Huib
I believe shooting star shells requires holding down the Control - ALT & Shift Buttons while targeting a hex then right clicking.

might take a few shots to get one to launch tho :)

Don't know the answer to your other question for sure, I presume if you give a side an allotment of starshells, the units will be able to use them
Thanks. Unfortunately I noticed it is only possible to fire them when "night scenario" is ticked on. Cry Well I gues you can't have it all...
can you change the visibility on a night scenario? :)
talk to the matrix stand in man .. Jason.. oh Jason... :)
Hi Huib, I used a modified version of your text to change from night to day to allow starshells :-

Dynamic Visibilty instructions for Korean scenario Yongsan

After the Korean player has finished playing turn 10 (by pressing the end turn button). He should open the saved .bte file with Notepad (or .btl for non PBEM games)
Eleven lines beneath the "Divided Ground" text is this line with the following digits:
0 20 20 This should be changed to 1 20 20. The first digit in this line is 1 for night turns and 0 for day turns. As the first night comes visibility changes from 12 to 1.
After the Korean player has finished turn 15 the first digit should be changed back to 0 as dawn breaks on 4th September.
After the Korean player has finished turn 25 again change to 1 as the second night falls.
After the Korean player has finished turn 30 change the digit to 0 for daybreak on 5th September.
The Korean player should be aware of the sudden visibility increase at the end of turns 15 and 25 especially with regard to the placement of vulnerable units such as transported infantry or artillery. Both players should keep the visibility changes in mind when plotting artillery and airstrikes.
Please note that starshells may be available during night turns.

Cheers, Chris
Chris,

That is totally cool! Thanks for letting me know. I assume it works the same in WF/EF?

BTW it's alt-shift to fire em I think....and control to switch to fire mode if you're in movement mode. I usually switch to fire mode when shooting starshells since three keys at once is tough work for my aging braincells.
Hi Huib, I only tried it with DG I'm afraid.
Cheers, Chris
