I just had one of the fans in my computer replaced and received a "general tune up." Now my computer starts up great, is fast and is quiet.

However, now my computer does not seem to acknowledge the existence of either my D drive or my E drive. I popped the top and confirmed that the ribbon tapes appear to be plugged in just fine. Can anybody offer any solution to quickly convince my computer that the D and E drives do exist.

Thanks in advance. Once we get this straightened out, Tank Killer can resume destroying me on the SFS tourney.

Cheers,

Nort
I assume in this case the D and E drive are cd or dvd drives?
Does the pc's bios recognize these devices? If not, it is surely an hardware failure. If the bios sees the devices and windows doesn't, it could be the drivers are missing but on most modern PCs the cd drives are plug and play.
Thanks for all of the help. I think I may have fixed it. My SFS turn is off to Tank Killer. 48th Panzer, I will get something to you tomorrow. After 5 hours of screwing around with my computer, I am off to bed.

Cheers,

Nort
