hi, ill try and help if i can i have been reading im only new myself, when you install 1.05 patch and you get that file in special folder that cant be installed just open patch into a seperate folder and all files then go in there including the special which is a bitmap file. then copy that file and paste into special folder where you have game installed.you could even copy/paste all files and overwrite.to uninstall and start all over again might be the idea and using xp windows uninstall program in control panel should do it....hope that helps..have you got correct patch for u.s version west front they have it here on site.the avatar......is a picture of your choice i assume but can only be a maximum of 64 x 64 pixels in size so u need to edit a picture of your choice and crop to size using a program like photoshop etc....many free programs available as trials to do what you need there.HP photosmart is another program. Try oldversion.com for older but functional free programs. I actually have the europe in flames cd (west front)
