Hiya Barre (LOl may I call you Barre??) oops! I guess I just did or should I say I just typed it? May I type you Barre? Bah! That does not work either! Hmm well never mind then! :)

I can play you a game, however what is EFV?

Gary
Howdy...EFV is SPWAW Enhanced Final Version....it's the latest version up on the SPWAW Depot site. If you want a match, just shoot me an email and we can work out the details...

Now lets see if you can get it added/installed.
;)
Big Grin

Just to make sure...
1. Make a copy of your Enhanced FV.1 file
2. Rename it to Enhanced HTH or whatever name you like just to distinguish it from Enhanced FV.1
3. Extract the files inside the pbem mod file.rar(or zip) somewhere temporary and then, place them/paste them,, however your particular zip program works, into your duplicate FV.1 Mod file (making sure it overwrites the older files inside).
Your opening screen will indicate SPWAW Enhanced FV HTH
Oh oh! No cookie for me.

What I did (which usually get smy wife shaking her head and laughing) was to copy each part of different zip files into the new 8.3 install I did or was that wrong also?

So lets do it this way:

I installed a new version of SPWAW since I have plenty of room to handle multiple installs. So walk me through from here.

No cookie for me :(

you can manually place the files inside the correct folders if you wish to do it that way, thats how I did it, but the downside to doing it that way is you cannot easily change back to another version if you so desire.
but I will never go back to Vanilla SPWAW so....I just manually installed all my files.

this is easiest way.....

1. Download the Enhanced FV Mod file and save into the MODS folder in your Steel Panthers game folder. The Mod should be named SPWAW Enhanced FV.1.spm, but .zip files will work too.
then...
2. Make a copy of your Enhanced FV.1 file
3. Rename it to Enhanced HTH or whatever name you like just to distinguish it from Enhanced FV.1
4. Extract the files inside the pbem mod file.rar(or zip) somewhere temporary and then, place them/paste them,, however your particular zip program works, into your duplicate FV.1 Mod file (making sure it overwrites the older files inside).

Now, as far as using the modswap program

Step-by-Step Process for Using the ModSwapper Program

1. launch the ModSwapper program. It is located in your main Steel Panthers game folder, and on your start menu.
The left pane shows all Mods that have been installed; the right pane shows the description of the Mod when it has been selected.

2. Under the File tab, select the Install option.

3. In the window that opens, select the Mod you wish to install. The program should open the MODS folder by default; if it doesn't, navigate to this folder using the Look In: feature. By default, files with the .spm extension are shown; to use a .zip file, change the Files of Type selection box to ZIP Files (*.zip).

4. A new screen opens, showing the description of the Mod you selected. Click on the OK button to install the file.

5. The left pane will now show the file installed. Exit the ModSwapper program.

use the modswap program to install and uninstall the Enhanced mod whenever you so desire.

you see all the 'oob.bak' files in my picture.
this is how modswap works, it makes back ups of your original files so they do not get overwritten
also notice "modswap" in the folder.

Hope this helps.
It is really quite simple after you have done it once or twice.
