Would there be an interest in a campaign where the primary unit would be a Soviet partisan group?

The partisan group would start off relatively small to begin with and if the campaign is successful, grow accordingly as the campaign continues. Missions could be as simple as destroying a bridge, destroying supply facilities, hitting airfields, destroying trains, etc.

The action would take place in the Smolensk region, starting in the summer of 1941 and go til approximately 1943.

Thoughts?

Take care and good luck

I think the partisan campaign could be a good idea.

The Smolensk partisans were a real pain in the neck to the Germans before, during and after Operation Mars in 1942-43. I had in mind putting them in my planned scenarios for the fighting in the Belyi area, which is a wooded swampy nightmare perfect for partisan raids on rear area forces and assets.

Would be a good place to use those German Cavalry and Security Divison troops and Ost Battalions that were formed to deal with the partisans in the German rear area.

Dragoon, look on the Club's 'home page' to the right.

And, to all, yes a partisan campaign would be interesting! Partisans attacking trains [armored or unarmored]?
